Vizio televisions are set up to connect with a variety of apps. They essentially work like any smartphone, tablet or computer that uses apps. The app functions off a connection and does not require a hard drive to save and store any data. YouTube and other streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime are easy to setup on a Vizio TV.
You can setup new apps from a wireless remote or from the Vizio control panel. Connecting YouTube Vizio TV means you can watch free videos on your big screen. You can also purchase paid content from YouTube directly. New movie releases and blockbuster hits are readily available through the YouTube rental library.

Adding YouTube to a Vizio TV
Adding YouTube is easy on your smart Vizio television. Vizio uses the Yahoo Connected Store which functions in the same manner as Android Play or iTunes on iOS. Locate the VIA button on your remote control. It's the downward pointing double arrow (not the down navigation or reduced volume). Select the VIA button to open the menu and navigate to the Widgets option.
On the newest models, you can also select Install App without navigating through the widget options. Otherwise, you must scroll through the Widgets until you locate the YouTube app and select the Install App option off that specific menu. If you navigate directly to the Install App menu, you will still need to search the available apps to locate YouTube and install the app. Once installed, you will have a widget available on your app screen. Simply connect this to open and use YouTube.
Using Your YouTube Account
You can use YouTube without logging into the platform. This only allows access to the free videos. Ideally, you will login and have access to your paid subscriptions, saved movies and the general settings used on your computer. You will not have the ability to purchase movies from a saved credit card however. YouTube does this to protect your account and prevent fraud or unverified purchases.
To rent or buy a movie, login from your primary device or any computer or phone and purchase the desired video. You will confirm the purchase and receive a confirmation email. The video will now appear in your library. In some cases, you will receive a code and will need to enter the code to activate any paid services on the Vizio television screen.
